Sotaro is a young man fighting an illness. As he lies on the roof of the hospital and listens to a radio broadcast, he finds himself transported to a strange and foreign land. “I wonder if I can meet that person here?” This thought is something he has hoped for but has never said aloud. Sotaro jumps out into the outside world…

The Angel Island was almost entirely shot in Penang, Malaysia, with the cooperation of the state tourism board and local production company. Viewers will get to experience the streets of Georgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where multiple cultures coexist, and the mysterious exchange of dialogue between Japanese and English.
