Pagtatag is the tagalog word for “establishment” and was chosen as the title of award-winning five-member Filipino boyband SB19’s 2023 EP and international tour to symbolise their decision to go independent of a major label. It is also the name of Jed REGALA’s documentary capturing this era.


Less a concert film and more a condensed portrait, REGALA uses off-the-cuff video recordings and a collage of concert clips and intimate interviews to show SB19’s Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin on the road doing back-to-back performances. The threat of disbandment midway through their tour is addressed and the guys talk of the stress, but, more than that, their grit and talent shines as we are shown their creative process while working with talented figures like their stage director, and backing dancers. It reveals them as more than just a pop group but dedicated artists pushing themselves in leading P(Pinoy)-pop’s global breakout and winning fans through their creativity and passion.
