Recently divorced, having just quit her astronomy job and with her daughter in tow, Stella returns to the childhood home to look after her sick mother. Her American father disappeared from there 30 years ago but Stella believes that he never abandoned their family and her belief is proven right when he calls for help via a time warp. Together with her daughter and friends, she leaps into a rescue mission that spans thousands of years of Thai history.

Taklee Genesis is a visually astounding sci-fi movie with Hollywood-scale as Stella’s time slip adventures stretch between a prehistoric past to a dystopian future. Zombies, kaiju, CIA spies, Thai folklore and political history add layers of intrigue and threat amidst mind-bending breaks in the time continuum but the heart of the film is a family story with themes of adults reversing betrayals of the young.
